Determine whether [Customer] is on track or behind schedule in their product onboarding by comparing weekly active user (WAU) adoption against expected benchmarks for their onboarding stage.
Step 1: Pull product usage
Retrieve weekly active user metrics and company size metrics for the last 18 months.
Step 2: Determine onboarding stage
Find the earliest available product usage data point to estimate how long the customer has been onboarded. Calculate months since first use:
- Ramp stage: < 1 month since onboarding
- Early stage: 1–2 months since onboarding
- Mid stage: 3–5 months since onboarding
- Mature stage: 6+ months since onboarding
Step 3: Infer customer tier from company size
- Starter: < 150
- Business: 150–500
- Enterprise: > 500
Step 4: Compare current WAU against tier and stage benchmarks
- Ramp (< 1 month): Starter ≥ 1 | Business ≥ 3 | Enterprise ≥ 10
- Early (1–2 months): Starter ≥ 5 | Business ≥ 20 | Enterprise ≥ 60
- Mid (3–5 months): Starter ≥ 12 | Business ≥ 50 | Enterprise ≥ 150
- Mature (6+ months): Starter ≥ 20 | Business ≥ 80 | Enterprise ≥ 250
Step 5: Classify
- Behind schedule: Current WAU is below the expected minimum for their stage and tier.
- On track: Current WAU meets or exceeds the expected minimum.
Return exactly one of: Behind schedule, On track
Include one sentence with specific numbers (e.g., “4 months into onboarding with 18 weekly active users vs. the expected ≥50 for a Business-tier account.”) in the reason field.
