Career snapshot

Builds a one-line career snapshot: current title, last promoted date, and date joined the company

One of 51 free, open-source prompts from Sonora — copy-paste-ready AI prompts for customer success and account management, organized by customer lifecycle stage. Copy this into any AI assistant, or run it on autopilot inside Sonora.

The prompt

Build a one-line career snapshot for [Contact] at [Customer] covering three facts: current job title, when they were last promoted, and when they joined the company.

What you already know

Use CRM title and any prior enrichment data before running a web search.

Title

For the title segment, take the first non-empty source:

  1. CRM title
  2. Prior enrichment title (if any)
  3. Title from web search (only when both of the above are empty)

The promotion and join dates aren’t typically in CRM data, so a search is expected even when you already have the title. Search for:

[Contact full name] [Customer] LinkedIn

Look for the person’s experience / work history showing when they started their current role and when they joined [Customer]. If the first result doesn’t surface both dates, run one or two more focused searches to confirm. Stop once you have the dates, or have confirmed a date isn’t available.

Output

Return exactly one line, three segments separated by ·, with the literal labels Promoted and Joined:

<Title> · Promoted <Mon YYYY> · Joined <Mon YYYY>

  • Use n/a for promoted or joined when you cannot verify from search (e.g. VP of Sales · Promoted n/a · Joined Jan 2022).
  • Month-year is enough; never guess exact days.
  • If you cannot identify the person at all, respond with -.

In the reason field, cite where the title came from: CRM record, prior enrichment, or the LinkedIn/web page URL from search. Do not claim a web-verified title without a source.

The catch

A prompt is only as good as the data you feed it.

Run this well and you'll be stitching together 1 disconnected system by hand, for one account at a time — and the answer is only ever as fresh as your last copy-paste. Sonora already has the context, live:

  • Web search — connected and continuously synced

Inside Sonora this prompt runs grounded in your real customer data, on a schedule, across every account at once — and flags what needs you, before you have to ask.
